The Department
of Emergency Management protects the citizens
of the City of Borger and residents of the surrounding
community. The Emergency Management Coordinator
(EMC) coordinates the department’s efforts
with the help of administrative volunteers and
a volunteer response group.
The Department oversees public education and
information dissemination programs including
the “Know Zone” video production,
many seminars and public presentations, and
the Public Access television channel (Channel
11), which is used to advise and instruct the
public during times of danger.
The Department works with local industry to
maintain an appropriate emergency plan and is
also responsible for the manning of the Emergency
Operations Center and the outdoor public warning
system.
